Financial & Insurance

To help our patients finance their orthodontic care, we offer flexible payments plans as well as payments from insurance companies. Our friendly staff will help you every step of the way and we have a few tips to help you prepare your payment plan.

Before your treatment starts, become familiar with your benefits. Insurance companies do not normally pay the orthodontic benefit in one lump sum, but rather spread out the payments over the length of treatment.

If you would like our office to submit claim forms, we ask that you provide us with the name, address and telephone number of your insurance carrier. We also need to have the signature on file form filled out and signed in our office.

If any changes in employment/insurance coverage occur during treatment, it is the patient/family’s responsibility to inform our office if a new claim needs to be submitted. Some insurance companies pay for “work in progress”, some do not.

For medical reimbursement accounts, you may use a copy of your canceled check or a receipt of payment provided by our office.

The Scoop on Insurance

Orthodontic insurance generally differs from regular dental insurance in that each insured individual usually has a lifetime maximum benefit for orthodontic services. This benefit is paid as a percentage of the orthodontic fee until the benefit maximum has been reached. Some insurance plans have a waiting period before the orthodontic benefit kicks in.

We’re Here to Help

We’ll gladly submit initial insurance claims pertaining to charges for care rendered in our office. Keep in mind that some insurance companies do not pay the provider, but rather send payment directly to the insured. However, please be aware that our financial relationship is with our patients or their families, not their respective insurance companies. Financial arrangements can be made based on your estimated insurance benefit, however, any outstanding insurance claims not paid are the responsibility of the patient/family. Payments are also accepted on VISA, MasterCard, Discover and CareCredit.
